Almost 2 years ago, The Foundation For Haslett Schools awarded Haslett High School with a $6177.40 grant to acquire 50 graphing calculators. We wondered about the impact of this grant and reached out to Larissa Vessell asking for her reflections. Mrs. Vessell, who is in her 18th year at the HHS, teaches Pre-Calculus, Algebra I, and Personal Finance.
She expressed to us how helpful this grant has been in enhancing our students' learning experience. Imagine being able to check out a graphing calculator like you would a library book, and having it by your side for the entire school year. This is now a reality for our students, who are utilizing these calculators in class, SAT preparation, and various other academic pursuits. The impact is profound, as these devices are empowering our students to tackle complex problems with confidence and precision.
The outpouring of gratitude from our students is heartwarming. They recognize the value of these calculators in helping them excel academically and are embracing the opportunity to leverage this technology to enhance their learning journey.
As we witness the enthusiasm and appreciation from our students, we are confident that this grant for graphing calculators was not just an investment in tools but an investment in the future success of our students. The possibilities are endless, and we are excited to see the transformative impact these calculators will have on our school community.
