Full STEAM Ahead: Wilkshire Students Are All Aboard the Indi Bot Train.

The STEAM students at Wilkshire Early Childhood Center recently received two separate grants to purchase Sphero Indi Student Kits for the STEAM classroom. Mrs. Waugh, a STEAM teacher at Wilkshire, reached out to us expressing gratitude for the funds that allowed the school to purchase five student kits. Throughout this school year, the students learned about Indi by first hearing a short overview of the robot, and then taking time to discover how Indi works. Students learned what direction Indi moves based on the color of the mat and completed three different challenges. Mrs. Waugh also expressed her excitement to expand Indi use in the fall by using it to teach the first graders about angles and degrees.

“Without the support of the Foundation for Haslett Public Schools, it would not have been possible to complete the set. Indi is the next logical step in helping to grow the students’ coding skills.”
